Have you ever wondered what goes into producing that amazingly well-researched and superbly argued article in law journals? Or are you a Year One suffering migraines over LAWR and hungry for tips on writing technique to take you through your next few years in law school?
If so, we have just the thing for you - join us at the annual SLR Workshop for a delightful session on 26th October (Friday), 1 pm at SR 4-3 where Professor Michael Hor will share with us techniques and thought processes in writing law journal-quality articles!
Professor Michael Hor Yew Meng studied law in Singapore (NUS, 1984), Oxford (BCL, 1990), and Chicago (LLM, 1998). He worked in the Singapore Legal Service administering insolvencies and other forms of justice (1984-1987) before joining the Faculty. He now delights in all things criminal, evidential and constitutional, and has written many articles and other publcations regarding these areas of interest. An active contributor in law publishing (Chief Editor of the Singapore Journal of Legal Studies, Member of the Editorial Committee of the Singapore Academy of Law Journal, Member of the Advisory Committee of the Singapore Law Review) and curriculum reform (Member of the Faculty Academic Affairs Committee) in his spare time, Professor Hor will show you how to improve your writing, be it for submission to a law journal or simply your next essay assignment.
Bring your friends along! Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the workshop.
All students are welcome. Seats are however limited. To pre-book your seats and to allow us to provide enough of the delicious refreshments for you, do register here by 26th October.
