In an April 2004 report by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, titled “Corporate Social Responsibility” (“Freshfields Report”), two references were cited as to what CSR means:
The European Commission describes CSR as:
‘… a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis.”
